Young Health and Wellness Detox Packs
Every day we are exposed to a variety of different environmental toxins through what we eat, drink, breathe, put on our skin or have injected through beauty treatments/some medical therapies. Additionally, we can also inherit these toxins through our genes.
Toxins are commonly made up of heavy metals and harmful chemicals, which can burden our entire body and its ability to function. Repeated exposure to toxins on a daily basis can cause them to build up in our systems over time, creating a ‘toxic load’. This toxic load can eventually lead to chronic inflammation and disease when it is not released from the body efficiently.
Detoxification is an essential process within the body and there are a number of elimination pathways that release and eliminate these toxins from our body. This is done through: breathing (exhaling), excretion of urine/faeces and through the skin (the largest organ of our body). Detoxing by drawing out toxins through the skin occurs when we sweat, take a sauna or use topical products.
Young Health and Wellness Detox Packs are detox bath soaks, which have been designed to activate the pathways in our bodies that aid detox and will be a great addition to your full detox program. They use high grade ingredients containing organic herbs, spices or flowers with zero synthetic perfumes or additives. All herbs, spices and flowers contained within the packs are organic, some having been loving grown in my own garden, hand picked and died, they have been ground up thoroughly for your safety and put into little tea bags (We don’t want to be in the bath and get a little prick from an unsuspecting pine or rosemary needle!)
Epsom Salts – Epsom salts are rich in magnesium and sulphate, which are easily absorbed through the skin. Epsom salts pull harmful toxins out of the body through a process called reverse osmosis thus allowing the magnesium and sulphur to enter.
*Magnesium, is a mineral that is involved in over 300 biochemical reactions in the body, it is a relaxing mineral that may improve sleep issues, reduce inflammation, ease stiff joints and aching muscles amongst many other things. Magnesium deficiency is associated with low levels of glutathione (1).
*Sulphur plays a vital and important role in our detoxification pathways.
Sodium Bicarbonate – Enhances the actions of the Epsom salts, soothes sore and aching muscles, softens rough skin, aids with detoxing and relaxes the body.
Bentonite Clay & Zeolite Clay – may help to draw out heavy metals and other environmental pollutants (2).
Lavender – is known for its anti-inflammatory activity (3), relaxing qualities that may aid sleep (4), anxiety and stress (5).
Rosemary – Enhances glutathione (GSH) enzymatic functions. GSH is our master antioxidant1; therefore it aids the detox pathways. Rosemary is also known to relieve muscle aches and headaches (6).
– these ingredients are all rich in shikimic acid, which has anti-cancer, antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties due to its ability to boost immune function. Shikimic acid also has anti-platelet and antithrombogenic effects (7).
Add the desired amount to the bath or bowl for a foot soak, and soak for at least 20 minutes.
Remove the silica gel pack before pouring the contents into the bath.
DO NOT ingest these ingredients.
Not safe for pregnant or lactating women
Due to the weight of the detox packs they are only available to buy in person.
